Will we get to see Váli the son of the Odin and the giantess Rindr. You know the god who kills Hod after he kills Balder.

What ... it would be cool.

Writers/Creators can write their strips about whatever they want. As an American myself, I appreciated the nod to the 4th. But would have been just as entertained by a nod to the Queen's Birthday (after all, our colorer is from the UK).

Required is probably just a troll . . . Thor, stomp him will ya?

Required needs to go back to school to learn proper grammer at least, and manners at most. There is no call for such "aggro" from a reader. If s/he doesn't like it, nobody is forcing him/her to read it. And if Americans are MAKING the comic, why not nod to American holidays? That they acknowledge their holidays and the readers who aren't American says much for their interest in their readers. Grow up, and quit looking for things to get upset about.

Perhaps the story line has seemed a bit disjointed as of late, but I for one am willing to wait and see how it plays out. I enjoy hypothesizing what will happen and how, then seeing how our boys choose to orchestrate and illustrate their version. Thank you for the players' guide - it helps to be able to keep up with who is on which side. Of course we are hoping to find out why...

I find the inside jokes and references to pop culture delightful, and am proud when I "get" them without resorting to asking my 20-year-old son. (Yay Princess Bride!)

Dear (required) (cute joke, BTW) - I am sorry that you are not enjoying this comic as much as some others. I happen to like it a great deal - and check it first (of two dozen that I read) every day, even knowing that it will not have updated yet. This is the only comic whose comments I read and contribute to.

I am pleased to have a webcomic that references Norse mythology, granted with their own inventions, and like the way that they try to reconcile the mythos of many cultures. Any time I learn something new while being amused is always a win-win in my book. Since I am frequently motivated to do additional research, that really speaks well of the comic's ability to spark my interest.

p.s. I just realized that I must spend WAY too much time online if I read that many comics daily. Though if I spread it out... one or two at every break from real work?

Ehh, the whole WC seems to be going... urm, here and there. I just read the last 50 pages. (Ive been away for a while) and stuff just happen without it happening. So I find my self skipping back and forth with two pages and see if the pagenumbers have any explanation. But no, there aint no link error in "next" and yes, n+1 does come after n,( thus I have proven other ways but that irrelevant.)

Not that the WC ever was too good, but its just getting way more boring. Thats why I dont check it requlary unlike bunch of others.

Ya, I know the message is a mess.

O, and one thing I really dont get, bunch of americans do a real mixed up WC about old scand gods, and when there is holiday fill it says "happy ____ for all americans" Like that wouldnt aggro ppl.

Love the poster, love the nod to Princess Bride, and I hope Odineye spent a year in Australia building up his resistence to Iocaine powder.

Good god, I got a reader request! I'm honored. Somehow I'm guessing you were thinking about doing this anyways, but still. Cool. And I love the early era X-men like good-and-bad-guys-lining-up-on-each-side-of-the-page thing. Very cool.

I wonder what happened to Hel and when we'll see her again?!

Setting Helheim on fire and basically taking over the realm of the dead should have some consequences ... I hope she's properly worked up and bent on revenge! :-) nice dragon tossing btw.

It's interesting how Hel takes sides while the rest of her family is "caught in the middle". Will we see Angrboda, her mother? Perhaps a cameo?

:-D cool story arc!

@smjjames - The two goblets (as tom mentioned) is an ode to the "Battle of Wits" scene in the movie, "The Princess Bride".

@Lord Bounty - Odin HAD 5 beasts. Just not in this storyline.

The ravens are Hugin and Munin - Håg and Minne, Thought and Memory. The wolves are Gere and Freke, and the horse is Sleipnir. Sleipnir is the son of Loke who took the form of a mare to trick a giant.

The two wolves chasing the Moon and the Sun are Hate and Skall, not Odin's own.

Thor's goats are called Tandglese and Tandgnissle, translating into "The one with far between his teeth" and "The one who grits his teeth".

At least that's what I've found on Swedish pages talking about the gods. I'm certain about the first part with Odin's creatures.

Odin had 5 beasts. His Raven's Huggin and Miggin, were thought and Memory, and every day they went out to see what was, then in the evening returned and whispered all that was into Odin's Ear.

One of the first things Odin did was to set the two eyes of the giant into carts, pulled by 8 horses. He then set his wolves (whose names I forget) to chase after the horses, and drive them constantly around the inside of his father's Skull. Hence the movement of the suna nd move through the heaven's in a constant pattern.

He also had Shelpneer (spell?) and 8-legged horse (and child of Loki, step-sibling to Hell, Fenrir, and Jormungander) That could run through the air.

Thor should have a pair of shaggy red goats who can be slaughtered and eaten, and then if the bones are placed in the skins, will spring back to life in the morning.

This by the way is why I want a pair of goats. So I can train them to pull a chariot.

you forgot to put Pookah as bieng on Hods side, although that's kind of obvious.

Also, what are they doing with those two goblets? some kind of game of logic?

If I know Odineye, he probably spiked both of them.

Why are Odin's wolves (didn't know he had those) and ravens on Thors side while Odin is on Hods side? I'm sure Odin was kind of forced into bieng on Hods side though.
