#366 – Jr. Pantheon Games: Name Games

Previously… There were like these games, ya know? And like the Norse dudes (and girl dudes) won it all. It was all extreme and stuff.  Not like extreme burn-your-mouth nachos extreme… more of a catchin’ big air kinda extreme.  Totally that kind of extreme.

Currently… Odin returned from his wanderings with big news of a new Pantheon Games just for the junior gods.  And while his kids try to sleep through the excitement of it all, we find that Zeus (or as I like to call him now.. Zoooooos) is up to something.

Dammit Zooooos, can’t you just screw up your own pantheon? More…

  2. Ok, I really enjoyed this one. I’ll be thinking Zoooos a long time. ;)

  3. Mark Sebree says:

I am sure that “Zoos” was just waiting to make his grand and impressive entrance to wow the ladies, no doubt in preparation to seduce them later (“He don’t know them very well, do he?”). And then he gets impatient and blows his lid because the ladies cannot pronounce his name. And then the sorcerous makes a comment that shows that she is not impressed by him.

He must not feel so mighty right now. :D

  4. Wynni says:

Ahhh, gotta love these ladies. Yes, M’Lady sorceress is quickly becoming a favorite.

  5. john K says:

LOL… this is beautiful, I really love the font on the card!

  6. Frenchie says:

Well, “Odin” IS much easier to pronounce…

I reached the end of a long journey. And now, instead of travelling it with seven league boots, I can now only walk with one step a week.

A most enjoyable journey it is, though.

There’s a lot of stories about the norse out there. One of the better is ‘American Gods’ by Neil Gaiman. But right now, I’d say this is the best. Not because it’s serious – it both is and isn’t. But the tales of the norse gods were not written (entirely) as a tale of gods and the world’s creation. It was part the wisdom of fairy tales, part the hilarity of a party tale (how loki made thor think he was pregnant, for instance, now that’s definitely not a ‘serious’ tale).. and VoluspĂ„, of creation, past, future, the world’s ending, and such serious things.

And Brat-halla is just that. A mix of serious, hilarity, and wisdom worthy of that old pantheon.

ANd yeah, I am not good at writing hilarity. Or wisdom, really. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it. :D

    Regards,
    Rune

so much for having a way with words….
    *ducks head and scurries off*

  9. NH says:

*Scene from the broadcast booth of the next Pantheon Games*

“What’s that John? Are the spectators out there voicing their disapproval of the Greek team?”

“No, Al. That’s just some of the partisan crowd chanting ‘Zoooooooooooooooos, Zoooooooooooos’.”

  10. Palmetto says:

Is it pronounced ‘Ruh-nay’? ‘Roan’? ‘Runny’?

Or is it ‘WITH AN ‘OOO’ SOUND! ROON! ROOOOON!”

  11. Ithil says:

I spy spiderman looking in the bar window!

That said “Zoooos” really needs to learn some patience. Not everyone is a master of vocabulary.

  12. E says:

Makes me think of the titans in the Disney Hercules…
