Boy, I hope this pays off for Arazel . . .

  2. Mark Sebree says:

Sounds like she has had experience as a babysitter, or a much older sister.

Also, cheap shot to Herc, in what is likely to be one of his few “weak spots”, his ego. Good for her.

  3. John K says:

Monkeys always make me happy too!

  4. Pfeniks says:

    Baby Arazel is SO cute!

It’s funny that Loki even counts as a junior god. He’s really as old as Odin.

OK, comments are a bit slow this week so I thought I’d chip in this one. There’s a kind of cool (or not) optical effect with Herakles in the fourth panel. Remember those optical illusions where you could either see a pretty young woman or a haggard crone depending on how your eye/brain interpreted the picture? Well, same here.

When I first saw H, my brain took the top of his chin to be his mouth in a small frown, before very quickly recomposing it as it is meant to be. If you can will yourself to see both, H will alternate between smug Greek god and snooty Parisian waiter with half a moustache…

I saw that (both versions too)… sometimes I see things in comics (not just this one but a few others) like that but I’m never quite sure if it is deliberate or just happenstance! I also see things that I know are definitely not intentional like stick people faces in a wall, birds in people’s hair, or other wackier things.

For example: I see two (three if you really try hard) small stick person type faces in the last panel on the wall just under Loki’s chin… you can either see a small face making an “ooo” mouth or, in the same spot a side view face of one eye (using the former ooo” mouth as the eye) and a smirk on the brick. The third is: take the smirk from the second face again as a mouth and above it is two dots for eyes. Definitely all unintentional.

Mind you;… I also saw Peter Rabbit’s mother standing on a cliff in the first panel but that could just be my crazy imagination kicking in! :)

And yes, I like watching clouds and making pictures from them too LOL (who hasn’t?)
