#396 – Jr. Pantheon Games: Less Victorious

The non-conquering heroes return and I don’t think they’re too happy with the "victors" in this little indoctrination quest.

The disappointment of the harpy and lamia are obvious. They wanted more death and dismemberment besides the Polynesian kids. (dinner that is not fit for garden decorations, at least)

And, given the Greeks AND who Herc’s father is, I get the feeling that “cover my flank” would mean the same to him who ever said it.

And now, a schoolyard brawl with deity powers.

I just realized a major pantheon that we have not seen much of yet, and is still in that part of the world. The Egyptians. Given that their pharoah is supposed to be a demigod, that would mean that his children would be eligible for the competition. Not that would likely do much better than the Polynesian kids.

Exactly why are the other kids mad at the Norse? Because they won? Because they won without killing any of the others? Exactly how is that a bad thing?

Oh, and why are the polynesian god-kids supposed to be so week compared to everyone else?

    • They’re kids and they’re miffed because they went through all those tasks and trials and monsters (aka “work”) racing to be the first to claim the quest item… only to find the prize wasn’t there. A prize that somehow wound up in the hands of the Norse godlings who appeared to never leave for the quest.

The Polynesian kids aren’t weak (that’s why I have them here in the first place)… they just didn’t know anything about Gorgons. They’ll make a nice recovery during the actual games.

Are we going to find out how the Norse Brats got the prize??

Boy is Sif going to be mad that she missed seeing Thor in action!

  4. Neat, I’m still checking in early, just in case ;)

A few comics ago I noticed that Hod’s head looked a little odd shaped. I don’t really enjoy this update. to me it’s more of a down-grade. I only want to know, are you planning on keeping that?
